Police begin probe as suspected cultists kill man in Lagos

The Lagos State Police Command says it has commenced an investigation into the fatal shooting of one Adedipe Adeyinkan, popularly known as Agali, by suspected cultists in the Surulere area of the state.

The command disclosed this in a post shared on X on Sunday, saying the shooting incident occurred at the National Stadium Bridge, Surulere, at about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026.

The command was reacting to a video from the scene posted by an X user, which showed a damaged white vehicle at the location with a crowd of people gathered around.

The post further suggested possible tensions between rival groups and referenced concerns over potential reprisals.
