Police deploy anti-cultism squads across Lagos, release phone numbers

The Lagos State Police Command has deployed anti-cultism squads to tackle the menace of cultism across the state.

The command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed this via a statement issued on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Hundeyin noted that the squads have been equipped to respond swiftly and professionally to cultism-related threats across Lagos.

Hundeyin said the squads are also tasked with conducting surveillance, responding to distress calls, apprehending cultism suspects, and working with local communities to dismantle cultism networks.

He quoted the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, as urging members of the public to play an active role in the effort to combat cultism by providing credible intelligence as quickly as possible.

“All reports will be treated with utmost confidentiality,” the police spokesman added.
