Police kill sit-at-home enforcer in Ebonyi

The operatives of the Ebonyi State Police Command have neutralised a suspected member of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) allegedly trying to enforce the sit-at-home order in the state.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, disclosed this via a statement issued on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Onovwakpoyeya said the incident occurred after some armed men, suspected to be IPOB members, went to Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and started shooting sporadically at about 2 p.m. on Monday, July 10.

He said: “On receiving the information, the operatives of the command immediately swung into action by giving the hoodlums a hot chase.
