Police probe officer for carrying Titi Atiku’s bag

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) says it has commenced an investigation into the case of a policewoman carrying the bag of Titi, the wife of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, at an event in Abuja.

A picture of the police officer carrying the bag of the former Vice President’s wife surfaced online on Wednesday.

The woman was visibly seen carrying the bag while the wife of the PDP presidential candidate was speaking at the commissioning of the Security Health and Education (S.H.E) Initiative office in Abuja on Wednesday.

A Twitter user, Ifeoma, @Fifi_Ify, slammed Titi for turning the police officer to her “maid”, adding that the policewoman abandoned her primary duty.

“When a private citizen can turn our uniform force member into her maid, why won’t the police forget their primary duty and only dance to the tune of the elites? @BenHundeyin is this how it’s supposed to be?” she wrote.

Reacting, the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said: “This is not acceptable. We have commenced necessary action on this. We will fish her out and get across to the principal.

“The AIG Special Protection Unit has been contacted to assist us get the woman police. Gradually, we will sanitise the system,” Adejobi stated.
