Police repel Boko Haram attack on Gujba division in Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has successfully repelled an attack by suspected Boko Haram terrorists on the Gujba Police Division in Gujba Local Government Area of the state.

Sources disclosed that the coordinated assault occurred late on Thursday night but was swiftly resisted by police officers on duty at the station.

According to the sources, no casualties were recorded among police personnel, while no firearms were lost and no patrol vehicles were damaged during the incident.

“The attackers were promptly repelled. There were no casualties, no loss of arms and no damage to patrol vehicles,” a police source said.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Gujba Division is said to be conducting a detailed assessment of the attack and is expected to submit a comprehensive report to the state command.

The source noted that Gujba and surrounding areas remain among the known flashpoints for insurgent activities in Yobe State.

As of the time of filing this report, the Yobe State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident. Meanwhile, security has been reinforced in the area to prevent further attacks.
