Popular Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, well known as Portable, has been detained in police custody after failing to meet the bail conditions for his release.
The Star had reported that the operatives of the Lagos State Police Command arrested Portable on Tuesday, May 14, over alleged failure to pay the balance of his G-Wagon vehicle.
The command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hudenyin, in an update on Wednesday, said the singer will remain in detention until he is able to produce a reliable surety to be granted bail.

“He has presented no reliable surety yet so he (Portable) is still with us,” Hundeyin said.
The police spokesman had disclosed that the command received a petition against the musician for failure to pay the balance money of the vehicle he purchased from a car dealer.
“He bought G-Wagon for N27 million, paid N13 million and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today (Tuesday),” Hundeyin had said.
