Portable hits back at YCee over ‘Olodo Uprising’ criticism

Nigerian singer Portable has responded to rapper YCee as the online debate surrounding the “Olodo Uprising” controversy continues to gather momentum.

Speaking during an appearance on the Honest Bunch podcast, Portable dismissed the criticism directed at him and mocked those who have described him as the “number one olodo.”

In a video from the interview circulating on social media, the singer pointed to his international travels as evidence of his success, questioning how many of his critics had visited Canada.

He also revealed that he holds a 10-year United States work permit, arguing that his accomplishments outweigh the insults aimed at him.

“Them de call me number 1 olodo, how many of you don go Canada before? America gave me 10 years working permit, I fit go piss for Canada come back,” he said.

Portable’s comments come amid an ongoing social media exchange triggered by YCee’s remarks about what he described as the rise of “brain-rot” content and the “Olodo Uprising.”

The debate has since attracted reactions from several entertainers and online personalities, including Peller and Jarvis, with opinions divided over the quality of content being celebrated on social media.
