The Presidency has announced that President Bola Tinubu will be back in Nigeria today (Monday) after his “working visit” to Europe.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced this via a post on his social media accounts on Monday, April 21, 2025.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will return home today,” Onanuga wrote.

Tinubu departed Abuja for Paris, the capital of France, on a two-week working visit on April 2.

There has been a surge in killings and abductions by gunmen in several parts of Nigeria since the president’s absence from the country.

This elicited condemnations from opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, among others.
