The senior special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on digital and new media, O’tega Ogra, has debunked reports that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, has been replaced.
Ogra, who made this known via a post on his X account on Monday, April 7, 2025, described such reports as fake news.
The presidential aide urged Nigerians to disregard the reports, saying any official announcement regarding a change in INEC leadership would come from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) or another authorised channel.
