The Kano State Government has relaxed the 24-hour curfew to between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily, pending when the security situation improves in the state.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salma Dogo, announced this after the State Security Council meeting presided over by Governor Abba Yusuf in Kano on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.
Dogo said the 24-hour curfew was adjusted to restore normalcy in the state.
Dogo said the governor, after intensive deliberations with the members of the Kano State Security council, decided to review the curfew.

He urged the residents of Kano to cooperate with the security personnel deployed in and outside the metropolis as peace was being gradually restored in the state.
The police commissioner stated that security operatives would be visible in all parts of the state to ensure law and order.
Dogo urged the residents to return to their various homes by 6 p.m., assuring them that the curfew would be further reviewed as the security situation improved.
Dogo said the governor also appealed to the residents to continue to pray for peace, progress, and political stability in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
