Remi @66: I’d choose same road that led me to you — Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has celebrated his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, on her 66th birthday, describing her as his “truest friend and confidante” who has stood by him through difficult moments.

In a personal birthday message released by the State House, Tinubu said his wife had remained a source of counsel, strength and support throughout their years together.

The President, who said he would choose her again if given the opportunity to start their journey afresh, wrote, “If life returned me to the beginning, I would choose the same road that led me to you. Through every mile, my heart has always remained at home with you.”

Tinubu praised Oluremi for her patience, courage and faith, saying she had supported him through periods of uncertainty and often provided counsel even before he asked for it.

“I call you my truest friend and confidante because you speak the truth plainly, even on the days I would rather not hear it,” he said.

The President also credited the First Lady with playing an important role in raising their children and grandchildren, saying her values of faith and kindness had shaped the family.

Beyond the family, Tinubu highlighted Oluremi’s humanitarian activities, citing her work through the New Era Foundation and the Renewed Hope Initiative.

According to him, her interventions have reached young people, widows, elderly citizens and women farmers, while she has also advocated for people affected by tuberculosis and other diseases.

He said her compassion had extended across ethnic, regional and religious boundaries.

“Nigerians know you for your compassion, kindness, generosity of spirit and steadfast faith,” Tinubu said.

Reflecting on their years together, the President said they had shared difficult decisions, sacrifices, laughter and prayers.

He thanked the First Lady for “the life we have built and the love that has held it together,” before wishing her many more years in good health and happiness.

“Happy 66th birthday, my darling Oluremi. I pray that God Almighty will grant you many more years in good health and joy,” he said.

Oluremi Tinubu, a former senator representing Lagos Central, is the current First Lady of Nigeria.
