Renown Kaduna Islamic scholar, Sheikh Abubakar, dies

The Chief Imam of Maiduguri Road Central Mosque in Kaduna State, Sheikh Dahiru Lawal Abubakar, has been confirmed dead.

It was gathered that Abubakar died at the Nigerian Army 44 Reference Hospital on Wednesday.

Confirming the demise of the Islamic cleric, his younger brother, Barr. Shuaibu Lawal, said the late Chief Imam died at the age of 52 after a brief illness.

Lawal stated that the deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites, adding that the Islamic scholar was survived by two wives and 20 children.

The deceased was a judge at the upper Shari’a Court in Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He was one of the sons of late renown Islamic scholar, Sheikh Lawal Abubakar.
