American rapper William Leonard Roberts, widely known as Rick Ross, has been arrested in Miami Beach on domestic violence-related charges.
Police confirmed that Rick Ross was taken into custody on Thursday morning and booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at about 6:10 a.m.
The 50-year-old singer faces one felony count of battery by strangulation and one misdemeanor count of battery, with both charges classified as domestic violence offences.
Police set his bond at $5,000 for the felony charge and $1,000 for the misdemeanor battery charge.
Police have yet to release details surrounding the alleged incident, including when and where it occurred or the identity and relationship of the alleged victim.
The arrest comes days after model and social media personality Jazzma Kendrick accused Rick Ross of physical abuse.

Kendrick, 39, alleged in a series of Instagram Stories posts on September 26 that the rapper assaulted her, leaving her with a swollen and injured lip.
She also shared pictures of the alleged injury and claimed she ended their relationship after the incident.
Ross and Kendrick have had an on-and-off relationship since August 2025. Although they reportedly separated the following month, the pair rekindled their romance earlier this year and were seen together at several public events, including the 2026 BET Awards in June.
Neither Rick Ross nor his representatives had issued a statement on the allegations or his arrest as of the time of filing this report.
