Ruger resumes music following lawsuit resolution

Afrobeats singer Ruger has announced his return to the music scene following the resolution of a legal dispute with a former partner that reportedly kept him away from releasing new projects.

The development was confirmed on Wednesday by his record label, Blown Boy Entertainment, which said the singer had been dealing with personal and legal challenges linked to a lawsuit filed by an ex-girlfriend.

According to the label, the dispute, which allegedly involved claims of emotional distress and damages, affected Ruger’s activities and contributed to his temporary absence from the music scene.

In a statement to fans, the management explained that the legal matter has now been settled, clearing the way for the singer’s return.

“We know it’s been a while since Ruger dropped new music. For some time, Ruger was caught up in a series of personal challenges after someone he dated decided to sue him for alleged ‘emotional distress’ and ‘damages’. That chapter is now behind him. A new chapter begins,” the statement read.

Blown Boy Entertainment added that Ruger has resumed work on new music and is preparing for a series of international performances across Europe, Asia and Africa.

The label listed upcoming shows in Belgium, Málaga, Bali, Malawi and the United States, while thanking fans for their patience and continued support during his absence.

“We would like to sincerely thank everyone who remained patient and continued to support Ruger throughout the silence. Your loyalty and belief have meant everything,” it added.

The announcement has since generated reactions from fans online, with many expressing excitement over his return and anticipation for new releases after months of silence.
