SAHCO unveils 2026 strategy, reaffirms commitment to safety, service excellence

Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has restated its commitment to operational excellence, ethical standards, innovation and sustainable growth as the company reflects on its achievements in 2025 and sets strategic priorities for 2026.

In a New Year message issued on behalf of its Board and Executive Management, SAHCO appreciated customers for their continued trust and partnership, noting that customer satisfaction remains central to the company’s operations.

The company also acknowledged the support of stakeholders and government agencies, saying their collaboration helped it improve service delivery and achieve shared aviation industry goals.

SAHCO highlighted several milestones recorded in 2025, including the successful renewal of its IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) certification, as well as the renewal of its Quality Management System (QMS) and Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON) certifications. It added that its Regulated Agent (RA3) certification remains valid until 2027.

The company further disclosed plans to expand its Training School in 2026 and strengthen its curriculum in line with global aviation standards.

SAHCO also announced the onboarding of several new airline partners in 2025, including Ethiopian Airlines, Air Tanzania, Air Algérie, ValueJet Airlines, United Nigeria Airlines’ regional operations, Pioneer Airlines, Binani Airlines, ExeJet/Enugu Air, and Air Peace on its Antigua and Barbados routes.

According to the company, its performance earned it multiple industry recognitions in 2025, such as the FAAN Safety Excellence Award, NIGAV Aircraft Handling Service Achievement Award, Aviation Service Provider of the Year, Best Ground Support Service Company at the Nigeria International Air Show, and an IATA GSE Certification of Recognition.

British Airways also honoured SAHCO’s Abuja Station with a Bronze Award and its Lagos Station with a Gold Award for punctuality and safety.

In line with its sustainability agenda, SAHCO began replacing ageing equipment with eco-friendly alternatives in 2025, a programme it says will continue this year.

Looking ahead, SAHCO said its 2026 strategy will focus on operational excellence, revenue growth and expansion across the aviation value chain.

The plan is anchored on its “4Ps Strategy” — People, Process, Performance and Platform — aimed at building a highly skilled workforce, strengthening procedures, improving performance through data, and deploying integrated digital systems.

The company said it remains committed to “reimagining excellence” while keeping ethics, innovation and sustainability at the centre of its operations.

It also wished all stakeholders and partners a prosperous New Year.
