He added: “Governor Sanwo-Olu and his deputy have, by their action, satisfied section 185(1) of the same Constitution that makes it paramount for the political office holders to declare their assets before they take oath of office.”

President Muhammadu Buhari had directed all outgoing officials, elected and appointed, to collect the assets declaration form, fill, and return it to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Buhari, who gave the directive while collecting his assets declaration form from the CCB Chairman, Prof. Isah Mohammed, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday, May 26, said his strict adherence to the constitutional requirement of assets declaration before and after taking office was aimed at strengthening best practices, raising moral standards in Public Service, helping to build integrity, and combating corruption.

The President added that no one is excluded from the Constitutional duty of assets declaration.
