The Senate is currently screening the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa (rtd), as the new Minister of Defence.
President Bola Tinubu had on Tuesday nominated Musa as the new Minister of Defence.
Tinubu, in a letter to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, conveyed Musa’s nomination as the successor to Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who resigned on Monday.

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele, in a statement issued by his Directorate on Media and Public Affairs on Tuesday, said the former CDS would be screened on Wednesday.
Bamidele noted that the Senate was already in possession of the request of Tinubu to screen the defence minister nominee.
