APC rejects court ruling, insists Uzodimma remains Imo West candidate

Okorocha had gone to court to challenge the outcome of the APC Imo West senatorial primary election, following the declaration of Governor Hope Uzodinma as the winner by APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

He asked the court to determine whether it was constitutionally right for Uzodimma to contest the 2027 senatorial election, while serving as elected governor of lmo State, a tenure which would elapse in January 2028.

The presiding judge, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, granted Okorocha all the reliefs he sought, declared him the authentic APC candidate for lmo West, and also ordered INEC to list his name to that effect.
