Senators, on Sunday, donated one month’s salaries amounting to N109 million to victims of the December 3 military drone mishap in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, announced the donation in a statement on Sunday.
The military drone operation mistakenly killed 85 civilians gathered for a religious celebration in Kaduna.
Mudashir stated that Barau announced the donation at the Kaduna State Government House when he led a Senate delegation to commiserate with the state government and the people earlier in the day.
Mudashir quoted Barau as saying the money would be sent to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who received the senators, for onward delivery to the victims.

He added that Sani thanked the senators for their kind gesture.
Mudashir listed the delegation to include the Majority leader, Sen. Micheal Bamidele; the Chief Whip, Sen. Ali Ndume; Minority Leader, Sen. Abba Moro; and the Deputy Minority Leader, Sen. Kamorudeen Olalere.
Others were Sen. Abdulhamid Malam-Madori, Sen. Aliyu Bilbis, Sen. Ibrahim Bomoi, Sen. Ibrahim Lamido, Sen. Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, Sen. Victor Umeh, Sen. Muntari Dandutse, Sen. Lawal Usman, and Sen. Emmanuel Udende.
Mudashir stated that the senators also visited the Barau Dikko Hospital where survivors of the incident were receiving treatment.
