The rescheduled special session of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in honour of late former President Muhammadu Buhari will be held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Thursday, July 17, 2025.
The Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, made this known via a statement issued on Wednesday, July 16.
Ibrahim noted that the special FEC meeting will be held after the third day prayer for Buhari at his residence in Daura, Katsina State, with Vice President Kashim Shetima leading a delegation of the federal government, comprising ministers, for the prayers.

Ibrahim stated that the FEC meeting will be attended by the leadership of the National Assembly – the Senate and the House of Representatives, the judiciary, and representatives of the family of the late former president.
He added that a special prayer session will be held in honour of Buhari at the National Mosque in Abuja on Friday, July 18, while a special church service will be conducted on Sunday, July 20.
