The management of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) in Bauchi State has postponed the resumption date of students to January 7, 2024.
This was made known in a statement issued by the Director, Directorate of Information and Public Relations of the university, Zailani Bappa, on Friday, December 8, 2023.
“The decision to extend the resumption date for undergraduate students was reached in an emergency meeting of the management,” Bappa added.

It would be recalled that the university management, on December 4, announced the closure of the institution over students’ protest for one week.
The students protested over the death of a 500-level student of Geology, Joseph Baidu, outside the campus.
The management said the measure was imperative to avert breakdown of law and order on the two campuses of the university.
