The Lagos State Government has ordered the indefinite closure of Dowen College, Lekki.
The action is pending the outcome of an investigation into the death of Master Sylvester Oromoni (Jnr), a student of the school.
The State Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, announced the closure after a meeting with the school’s management and staff on Friday.
Adefisayo, however, called for calm among the stakeholders, stressing that no effort will be spared in getting to the root of the incident.
The parents of the JSS 2 student had alleged that Master Oromoni was abused by senior students over his failure to join ‘secret cult’ in the school.
