The leaders and members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) have commenced a protest over the removal of subsidy on petrol, marching to the National Assembly complex in Abuja.
The union had, last Wednesday, issued a seven-day ultimatum to the Federal Government to reverse all “anti-poor” and “insensitive” policies.
All efforts by the government to stop the nationwide protest failed.
The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, in a statement, issued on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, listed the demands of the union to include the immediate implementation of the resolutions jointly signed with organised Labour and government, among others.
