The Supreme Court has nullified the nomination of Emmanuel Bwacha as the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State.

Bwacha’s nomination was nullified in a judgement delivered by a five-member panel of the Supreme Court led by Kudirat Kekere-Ekun on Wednesday.

The apex court set aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal and affirmed the verdict of the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital which held that the APC did not conduct any governorship primaries that produced Bwacha as the party’s governorship candidate.

The Federal High Court had sacked Bwacha as the APC gubernatorial flag-bearer in a suit filed by a governorship aspirant, David Sabo Kente, in September 2022.

The Court of Appeal in Yola, the Adamawa State later reinstated Bwacha as the party’s candidate in the state.
