Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has assigned portfolios to newly appointed commissioners in the state.
The new commissioners are Dahiru Yusuf Yabo assigned to the Ministry of Water Resources; Akibu Dalhatu, Ministry of formation and Orientation, and the overseer of the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.
Others include Bashir Muhammad Lambara for Ministry of Solid Minerals; Abdullahi Abubakar Dange, Ministry of Social Welfare; Abdullahi Yusuf Hausawa, Ministry of Home Affairs; Salihu Maidaji, Ministry of Works; Bashir Gidado, Ministry of Commerce and Trade Development; Aminu Bala Bodinga, Ministry of Land and Housing; while Abdullahi Maigwandu was assigned to Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.

However, Usman Suleiman Dan Madamin Isa was redeployed to the religious affairs ministry from rural development, while Isa Bajini Galadanchi was posted to rural development from information.
Abubakar Maikudi Ahmad was appointed the Commissioner for Careers and Security Matters, while Prof. Aisha Madawaki was redeployed to higher education from social welfare.
Hassan Muhammad Maccido took charge of Budget and Economic Planning from Home Affairs, while Dr. Ali Inname retained his position as the Commissioner for Health and would also oversee the Ministry of Finance.
Aliyu Balarabe Dandin Mahe, the Commissioner for Energy and Petroleum Resources would also oversee the Ministry of Environment.
