A 28-year-old mechanic, Kabiru Usman, has died following a tanker explosion at a workshop in Tafa, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at about 12:00 p.m. on Friday when a tanker under repair suddenly went up in flames.
The vehicle’s registration number and the identity of its driver were yet to be confirmed.
According to security sources, preliminary findings showed that Usman was working on the tanker when the explosion happened.
He was rushed to Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Memorial Hospital in Sabon Wuse, where he was pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
