A 14-year-old boy, Musa Umar, has died following a violent altercation with a neighbour in Jama’are village, via Fika in Yobe State.
Security sources said the incident occurred at about 10:00 p.m. on April 30 when Musa got into a fight with another minor, 12-year-old Adamu Yusuf. During the scuffle, he was reportedly struck on the head with a stick.
The injured teenager was first taken to Gadaka General Hospital for treatment before being referred to Fika General Hospital due to the severity of his condition.
However, he died while being transported to the referral facility and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Sources said the body was documented and subsequently released to the family for burial in line with standard procedures.
