Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems has been named executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack for the upcoming fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone, with her manager confirming she also recorded three original songs for the project.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by BlackFilmandTV founder Wilson Morales, who shared details from the film’s trailer launch event in New York City.
According to Morales, director Gina Prince-Bythewood revealed that Tems will oversee the film’s soundtrack while contributing three new songs. He also disclosed that Burna Boy has joined the project as executive music consultant.
Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, later confirmed the development in a post on X, announcing that the singer would serve as executive music producer and curator of the soundtrack and that fans can expect three brand-new songs from her.
The announcement came shortly after Paramount Pictures released the film’s first official trailer, giving audiences their first glimpse of Nigerian music star Ayra Starr in her acting debut.
Ayra Starr, who plays an undisclosed role in the adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, had previously described the production as her first major acting project.
Tems’ hit song Me & U also features prominently in the film’s first official teaser.
Based on Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling fantasy novel, Children of Blood and Bone stars Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lashana Lynch, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Ayra Starr and Damson Idris.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
