Tinubu appoints NAICOM Board chairperson, commissioners

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Halima Kyari as the Chairperson of the Board of the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM).

Tinubu also appointed Olusegun Ayo Omosehin as the Commissioner for Insurance of NAICOM Board, Olawoye Gam-Ikon was named the Deputy Commissioner (Technical Operations), while Dr. Usman Ankara Jimada was appointed as the Deputy Commissioner (Finance and Administration).

Others appointed as members of the board were Dr. Miriam Kene Kachikwu, Adeniyi Olusegun Fabikun, and Umar Khalifa Mohammed.

Tinubu approves policies to overhaul education sector

The appointments were made known via a statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, on Friday, April 19, 2024.

Ngelale noted that Tinubu expects the new Board of NAICOM to exercise utmost probity as it leads the commission in ensuring a safe, sound, and stable insurance sector while protecting policyholders, the public interest, and improving trust and confidence in the sector.
