Tinubu heads to Jos after deadly attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has rescheduled his planned visit to Ogun State, opting instead to travel to Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday to commiserate with residents following recent deadly attacks that claimed several lives.

The President had been expected in Iperu, Ogun State, on Thursday to inaugurate operations at the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

However, according to a State House statement signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit has been shifted to Saturday, April 4.

Tinubu will first stop in Jos to condole with the government and people of Plateau State over the renewed violence in some communities.

From there, he will proceed to Lagos to observe the Good Friday holiday.

On Saturday, the President will be in Ogun State for the commissioning of the cargo airport and the inauguration of two commercial aircraft dedicated to import and export operations, a development expected to boost the state’s economic fortunes.

He will also unveil the new complex of the Federal Operations Unit of the Nigeria Customs Service, along with operational vehicles.

During the Easter break in Lagos, Tinubu is scheduled to commission several projects executed by the Lagos State Government, including the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, the Multi-Agency Complex named in his honour, and a school complex.

The President will round off his tour with a visit to Bayelsa State on April 10, where he will inaugurate completed projects by Governor Douye Diri’s administration.
