Tinubu: I’ll use Diaspora manpower to develop Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has promised to use the available expertise and manpower among Nigerians in Diaspora to develop the country.

Tinubu said this while speaking at the 3rd National Convention of the APC USA Chapter held at the weekend in Newark, New Jersey.

The APC presidential candidate, who was represented at the event by the Adviser on Media, Communication and Public Affairs of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Alake,  said he will tap into the expertise of the APC Diaspora members and the Nigerians generally in the Diaspora for the accelerated development of Nigeria.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by the National Chairman, APC-USA, Prof. Adesegun Labinjo, the former governor of Lagos State said as a former Diasporan, he understands the abundance of talents and expertise of the Nigerians in the Diaspora, adding that he is uniquely positioned, more than any other candidate, to deploy and apply them to nation building.

On his part, the Director, the Diaspora Directorate of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Prince Ade Omole, said Tinubu/Shettima ticket “is all out for a better Nigeria and for the good of Nigerians both at home and in the Diaspora”.

He stressed that the direction of Tinubu’s manifesto, ‘Action Plan’, will implement and deliver to the Nigerians if elected as president in the 2023 general election.

Omole assured the APC Diaspora members and the Nigerians in the Diaspora that Tinubu’s administration will have a robust Diaspora input and engagements.

He further commended the APC-USA for making Tinubu the focus of the convention and promised to carry on the Diaspora campaign from USA to other foreign countries.

The Elective Convention produced new national officers of the party including Professor Adesegun Labinjo who was re-elected as the National Chairman of APC-USA.

Labinjo reiterated the commitment of APC-USA to work tirelessly for the election of Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket in the 2023 presidential election, adding that the APC-USA was the first chapter of APC to inaugurate a presidential campaign committee for the purpose of ensuring victory for the party’s presidential ticket.

Other national officers elected at the convention and immediately sworn in by Judge Dele Alade were Deputy National Chairman, South, Emeka Molokwu; Deputy National Chairman, North, Mr. Abdullahi Gambo;  National Secretary, Mr. Ademola Tijani; National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Ismaila Maigyara; CPA, National Treasurer, Ayo Olashege; and National Financial Secretary, Dr. Umo Ekanem.

Others included National Legal Adviser, Ken Nwele; National Organizing Secretary, Mr. Folly Coker; National Women Leader, Mrs Elizabeth Olagunju; National Youth Leader, Mr. Oyakilome Bello; Deputy National Secretary, Mrs Emem Asikpo; Deputy National Organizing Secretary, Ms. Ololade Salvador; Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye and Deputy National Youth Leader, Mr. AbdulJabbar Surajo Guga.
