The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday, met with the members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), the leadership of the party’s Presidential Campaign Council, and the governors elected of the platform of the ruling party behind closed doors over the campaign council list.
The meeting, which was a follow-up to last week’s tripartite committee meeting over the controversy trailing the composition of the APC Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2023 general election, was held at Transcorp Hotel in Abuja.
This was disclosed via a tweet on the party’s Twitter handle on Wednesday.
“Tripartite meeting. The National Working Committee (NWC), Progressive Governors’ Forum and the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) are currently meeting at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja,” the party tweeted.
Those at the meeting are the Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the party’s vice-presidential candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.

Others are Governors Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi), Abdulahi Ganduje (Kano), Abubakar Badaru ( Jigawa), Bello Matawale (Zamfara), Kogi Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja.
Others include Abubakar Bello (Niger), AbdulRahman Abdulrazaq (Kwara), Abdulahi Sule (Nasarawa), Babagana Zulum (Borno), David Umahi (Ebonyi), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe).
It would be recalled that the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, in a purported letter addressed to Tinubu, accused the party’s presidential candidate of breaching the agreement on the composition of the campaign council.
Adamu had said the 422-member list did not only come as a complete surprise to the NWC and the party’s leadership but also contravened the principles and purposes of the arrangements both of them had.
The letter was later denied by the party, saying it was not written by Adamu.
This, however, led to the postponement of the campaign activities of the ruling party ahead of the 2023 general election.
