President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa, and other members of the House.
Tinubu is currently meeting with the lawmakers at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The Assembly has been embroiled in crisis after 32 lawmakers removed Obasa and Clerk Olalekan Onafeko in January.
Obasa was replaced by his former deputy, Mojisola Meranda, as the new Speaker.
Obasa rejected his removal as unconstitutional. On February 27, he stormed the Assembly complex with heavy security, allegedly breaking into the Speaker’s office.
Obasa reinstated as Lagos Assembly Speaker
He resumed duties and his supporters also besieged the Assembly, demanding his reinstatement.
Meranda later resigned as the Speaker of the House, while Obasa was reinstated as the Speaker.
Obasa has since filed a lawsuit against Meranda, the Assembly, and 36 lawmakers, challenging his removal.
