President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Paris, France, for the second leg of his three-week annual leave in Europe, according to officials close to the President.
The President arrived in the French capital on Sunday and was received by Nigeria’s Ambassador to France, Ayodele Oke.
Tinubu departed Abuja on Sunday, August 30, 2026, for the vacation, with London as his first stop before proceeding to Paris.
The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, had earlier announced that Tinubu would return to Abuja after the holiday to join the campaign for the January 2027 general election.
The President’s departure came a week after the release of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council list, which named Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima as chairman and vice chairman respectively.
Paris has remained one of Tinubu’s most frequent foreign destinations since he assumed office in May 2023.
According to a tally of the President’s foreign engagements by The PUNCH, Tinubu has visited Paris at least 13 times, spending more than 50 days there on official, working and private trips.
The newspaper also reported that Tinubu had spent over 270 days abroad, visiting at least 30 countries on 51 unique and recurrent trips.
His foreign travels have covered approximately 260,000 nautical miles and more than 400 flight hours.
