President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to commission the newly completed Left-Hand Service Carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) Stage II in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Friday, June 13, 2025.
In anticipation of the event, the Apo-Wasa road will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The FCT Administration (FCTA) has urged motorists to make use of alternative routes during the five-hour road closure period, while assuring the public that traffic enforcement personnel will be deployed to manage vehicular movement and reduce disruption.
The expressway project, which stretches from the Ring Road I (RRI) Junction to the Wasa Junction, marks a major milestone in the FCT’s infrastructure development and will be commissioned by President Tinubu at 2:30 p.m.
In a show of solidarity and enthusiasm, traders, mechanics, and other business operators at the Apo Mechanic Village have voluntarily decided to close their shops on Friday to welcome the president and participate in the event.
The move was coordinated by the leadership of traders and mechanic associations, who have directed their members to resume normal business activities on Saturday, June 14.
The FCTA expressed appreciation for the cooperation of local residents and appealed to road users affected by the temporary closure to be patient, noting that the development represents a long-term benefit for commuters and the city’s transportation network.
