Tinubu urges unity, sacrifice in Eid-el-Kabir message

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, sacrifice, and compassion as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid al-Adha.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message, the President congratulated Muslim faithful in Nigeria and around the world, urging them to reflect on the values of faith, obedience, and selflessness exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

Tinubu said the festival serves as a reminder of the need to show mercy and support for one another, regardless of ethnic, religious, or social differences.

Speaking on the state of the nation, the President acknowledged that ongoing economic reforms have been difficult but described them as necessary steps toward rebuilding the country. He expressed optimism that the measures were already yielding results, including improved economic stability and increased investor confidence.

He also assured Nigerians that the government remains committed to tackling insecurity, noting that while attacks by terrorists and bandits persist in some areas, efforts by security agencies would ultimately defeat such threats.

The President urged citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace, national unity, and wisdom for leaders, while encouraging acts of charity and support for the less privileged.

Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving security, infrastructure, agriculture, and human capital development, with the goal of creating a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.

He wished Nigerians a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for the acceptance of their sacrifices.
