Tinubu’s Minister to marry off nine children in joint ceremony

The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, is preparing for a large-scale wedding ceremony as nine of his children are set to get married on the same day.

Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara State and husband to four wives — Aisha, Balkisu, Fatima and Dadiya — will host the joint wedding on February 6, 2026. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at the Central Mosque in Abuja.

Details of the event became public through a general invitation circulated by Dan Jafaru Aleengoo Turakee, announcing the date and venue of the multiple weddings. Additional wedding cards later revealed the identities of several of the couples involved.

Among the unions, former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, is set to marry Nana Bello Matawalle. Ibrahim Sahabi Liman will wed Farida Bello Matawalle, while Safiya Bello Matawalle is to be joined in marriage to Yazid Shehu Dan Fulani. Another daughter of the minister, Aisha Bello Matawalle, is also set to marry Umar Ibrahim Danmaliki.

The joint ceremony is expected to attract prominent figures and well-wishers from across the country.
