Tiwa Savage reveals ideal man, says she wants someone like Skepta

Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage has opened up about her ideal type of man, revealing that she desires someone like British-Nigerian rapper Skepta.

In a lighthearted video circulating on social media, Tiwa expressed frustration over her dating experiences, joking that while she wants a man like Skepta, she keeps attracting “funny-looking men.”

“I want a guy like Skepta, but I keep getting funny-looking men,” she said, sparking reactions from fans.

Since her 2018 divorce from ex-husband and former manager, Tunji Balogun, also known as TeeBillz, Tiwa has not publicly confirmed any romantic relationship.

Skepta, likewise, has kept a low profile since his rumored split from supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Earlier in May, Tiwa also shared her thoughts on Nigerian men, describing them as charismatic and generous but lacking romance.

According to her, this absence of emotional connection has made her wary of dating locally.

“Nigerian men have swag, they know how to splash money, but when it comes to romance, it’s just not there,” she said.

The singer also spoke candidly last December about her painful divorce experience, stating that TeeBillz publicly announced the split while she was still grappling with postpartum depression.

She revealed the backlash she faced after trying to tell her side of the story and how it pushed her into a new, more expressive phase of her life.

“It was very heartbreaking how the public blamed me.

“I was depressed and angry for so long,” Tiwa recalled.

“That’s when the ‘African Bad Girl’ was born.

“I started getting tattoos, wearing bikinis and short skirts.”

Despite the past, Tiwa now appears more focused on healing, expressing her desires clearly, and refusing to settle for less than what she wants.
