A Kaduna-bound passenger train derailed on Tuesday morning, causing panic among commuters along the busy Abuja–Kaduna corridor.
The incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m., with several coaches overturning and forcing passengers to flee for safety.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, adding that some travelers sustained minor injuries while attempting to escape.
The cause of the derailment has not yet been established.
However, previous disruptions on the route have been linked to vandalism and the activities of scavengers who tamper with railway tracks and infrastructure.
As of press time, neither the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) nor security agencies had issued an official statement on the development.
