IWD: Zenith Bank MD charges women on professional growth

The Group Managing Director of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr Adaora Umeoji, has urged women to step forward boldly, claim their value, and lead with confidence as the bank prepares to mark the 2026 International Women’s Day (IWD).

Umeoji made the call in a statement on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, while speaking ahead of the event.

Umeoji said the seminar, with the theme “Take It, You Own It”, aligns with the global IWD which has the theme “Give to Gain”.

She noted that the seminar will provide a platform for women to drive purposeful action, professional growth, and sustainable impact.

Umeoji said: “’Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead.

“At Zenith Bank, we are intentional about building environments where women can grow, thrive, and shape outcomes, not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve.”

The bank’s 2026 IWD seminar will hold in Lagos on March 9 and is designed as a convergence of influence, insight and inspiration.

Over the years, the bank’s IWD initiatives have convened women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for dialogue, inspiration, and shared learning on gender equity, inclusion, and professional development.

Umeoji added that the seminar would facilitate conversations and activities around inclusion, amplifying women’s potentials and creating tangible platforms for impact across society, from business to governance, creative industries, and technology.
