Transfer: Arsenal set to sign Gyokeres as Man United move for Calvert-Lewin

Arsenal are pushing to sign Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres with talks understood to be at an advanced stage.

Gyokeres has reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal over a contract and informed Sporting about his desire to join Mikel Arteta’s side.

There is no club-to-club agreement but there is an apparent willingness from all parties to get a deal done, Sky Sports reported.

Arsenal are thought to be encouraged by the 27-year-old striker’s desire to join, with personal terms not expected to be a problem.

Sporting have given Gyokeres permission to delay his return for pre-season as talks with Arsenal progress.

Sunderland midfielder Adil Aouchiche has joined Aberdeen on loan.

Arsenal confirmed the signing of Martin Zubimendi earlier on Sunday on a long-term contract.

Arsenal sign Zubimendi for £51m

Porto have appointed former Ajax boss Francesco Farioli as their new head coach.

Arsenal have agreed a five-year contract with Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester United are making a shock move to sign free agent Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The 28-year-old striker left Everton this week following the expiry of his contract.

West Ham have rejected a £50 million offer from Tottenham for Mohammed Kudus.

Manchester United have given Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, and Jadon Sancho extra time off to pursue moves.
