The troops of Operation Forest Sanity have destroyed a bandits’ camp and rescued six hostages in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Kaduna State Commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

Aruwan noted that the bandits’ camp was destroyed following a raid and rescue operations carried out by the troops in the early hours of Tuesday in Kuriga and Manini communities of Chikun LGA.

The commissioner further identified the rescued hostages as Sahura Hamisu, Ramlatu Umar, Saudatu Ibrahim, Maryam Shittu, Fatima Shuaibu, and Khadijah Mohammed alongside her infant child.

Aruwan noted that the rescued persons have been reunited with their families.

The commissioner further commended the troops, police personnel, intelligence operatives, vigilante members, and other security forces for the successful operations.

“The Kaduna State Government conveys its deep appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Air Staff, the General Officer Commanding, 1 Division Nigerian Army, and the Director General, Department of State Services, for the ongoing wave of onslaughts against criminal enclaves.

“Security forces will continue operations in the general area and other locations of interest across the state,” Aruwan added.
