Troops of the 22 Brigade under Sector 1 of Operation Safe Stability (OPSS) have disrupted a suspected terrorist logistics network during an offensive operation in Niger State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 7:30 a.m. on April 26 in Latan Daji, located in Patigi Local Government Area.
According to the sources, the troops, led by Brigadier General N.N. Rume, encountered individuals suspected to be supplying logistics to bandits and terrorists. The suspects reportedly fled upon sighting the advancing soldiers.
Items abandoned during the escape were recovered by the troops, including three motorcycles, a sack of assorted soft drinks, and half bags of rice and gari.
The sources added that the brigade commander later met with community leaders in the area, cautioning them against aiding or collaborating with criminal elements.
