Troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade have intercepted five motorcycles allegedly being transported as ransom to secure the release of kidnapped victims in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Security sources told Blueblood News that the interception took place around 3:00 p.m. on April 1 during ongoing shaping operations conducted by troops at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) in Futuk.
Three suspects were arrested while conveying the motorcycles, the sources said.
Preliminary findings indicated that the motorcycles were meant to be handed over to the abductors as part of negotiations for the victims’ release.
The recovered motorcycles have been taken into military custody, while investigations continue to determine those involved and the circumstances surrounding the attempted ransom delivery.
