A combined team of troops of the Nigerian Army and Navy have killed no fewer than seven bandits during clearance operations in Kasso, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The bandits were killed by the troops after a gun battle around Ungwan Rimi village in Kasso, near a river.
The Kaduna State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this via a statement issued on Friday.

Aruwan stated that seven bandits were confirmed neutralised during the operation, with the high possibility of more killed and injured across the river.
The commissioner noted that the troops recovered five motorcycles, 153 rounds of ammunition, seven magazines, and three mobile phones from the bandits.
“Receiving the report, Governor Nasir El-Rufai praised the troops for their doggedness and bravery.
“The Governor commends the leadership of Maj-Gen TA Lagbaja, GOC One Division, and Cadre ME Ejumabone, Commandant of Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology, in the successful operation,” he added.
