It was gathered that the tragic incident involving a truck and motorcycle, fondly called Okada, occurred around Eleganza Bus Stop in the Lekki area of Lagos.
The motorcycle riding against the traffic was said to have been hit by the speeding vehicle before the rider and the passenger were crushed.
The truck loaded with sand was later razed by angry mob, who expressed displeasure at the tragic incident on Tuesday.
Confirming the incident, Lekki Unit Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Assistant Corps Commander, Sani Abdullahi, blamed the cause of the accident on overspeeding by the truck driver.
Abdullahi added the three persons were confirmed dead after his team went to the scene of the incident in Lekki.
Meanwhile, police operatives have dislodged miscreants who set bonfire on Lekki-Epe Expressway over the accident.
It was further learnt that the police have made significant arrests with many bikes impounded while the road has been cleared.
The area is calm now and policemen are controlling the traffic inward and outward Ajah.
Still maintaining their presence at the location are Area Commander, ACP Jide Agboola, Commander, RRS, CSP Yinka Egbeyemi , Chairman, Lagos Taskforce, CSP Shola Jejeloye and DPOs of stations around the area.
