A truck driver has allegedly killed a pedestrian and a motorcyclist on the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
The General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Olalekan Bakare-Oki, in a statement issued on Sunday, confirmed that the accident occurred at Iyana-Iba Flyover near Lagos State University, Ojo.
Bakare-Oki said preliminary investigations revealed that the fully-loaded truck was speeding from Volkswagen inward Badagry, knocked down a pedestrian, and failed to stop.
He stated: “A motorcyclist, accompanied by another sympathiser, pursued the fleeing truck driver, and was killed after the driver rammed into the motorcycle, while the accompanying person escaped unhurt.

The LASTMA boss said the driver was handed over to the police at Okokomaiko as well as the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers for further investigation.
Bakare-Oki condoled with the victims’ families, warning against reckless driving and reaffirming LASTMA’s commitment to enforcing traffic regulations and improving road safety in Lagos State.
