A pedestrian has been killed by a truck which had a brake failure at the Iyana Ishasi U-turn inward Mile 2 in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.

Bakare-Oki said the accident was due to speeding by the truck driver while trying to navigate through traffic.

He said the vehicle was fully loaded, adding that the driver lost control of the truck and killed the pedestrian.

The LASTMA boss stated: “Swift intervention from Federal Road Safety Corps officials, in collaboration with LASTMA operatives, ensured effective management of the incident.
