Trump to countries: US won’t help anymore, fight for yourself to get oil from Hormuz

United States President Donald Trump has lashed out at the United Kingdom and other countries for not supporting the US war in Iran, telling them to “go get your own oil” from the Strait of Hormuz, a key artery for global oil flows.

Trump said this in a Truth Social post on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, stressing that the United States would no longer be helping other countries.

The president told countries seeking fuel to just “take it,” arguing the US had already weakened Iran enough.

Trump wrote: “All of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the Strait of Hormuz, like the United Kingdom, which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion for you: Number 1, buy from the U.S., we have plenty, and Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just TAKE IT.

“You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself, the U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been, essentially, decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil!”

Meanwhile, a Kuwaiti oil tanker carrying millions of barrels of crude oil has been hit near Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with officials blaming Iran for the strike.

The 24 crew aboard are safe and the blaze is under control, according to BBC.

New strikes and interceptions are reported in Israel, Iran, and the UAE, with multiple people injured from falling debris in Dubai.

In five weeks of war, thousands of people have been killed – the vast majority in Iran and Lebanon.

While the Iran war has severely disrupted global energy supplies, the pressure on aviation is particularly intense. Total jet fuel demand amounted to 7.8 million barrels a day last year, including kerosene — the base product, which is also used for heating — according to figures from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
