Two die as FRSC rescues 15 in Osun accident

Two persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred on the Ikire-Ibadan expressway in Osun State.

Confirming the incident on Saturday, the Acting Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Osun State, Medinat Akanbi, disclosed that the accident which occurred on Thursday resulted from speeding.

Akanbi said 17 persons were in the bus comprising 10 females and seven males.

She said: “We were able to rescue 15 passengers with severe injuries and they were all taken to an undisclosed hospital.

“Some items recovered from the accident scene have been taken to the Nigeria Police Force, Ikire.”

She advised motorists to always use good tyres and avoid speeding to minimise crashes.

“The command will not hesitate to deal with road users not ready to adhere to safety ordinances on highways,” the FRSC Sector Commander added.
